Few can argue that the old "cradle to grave" manufacturing model creates enormous waste and pollution in our modern world. Architect McDonough and chemist Braungart challenge that model and offer nature-inspired solutions that give back to the environment. They design products that are "biological nutrients," which can be reabsorbed by water or soil without depositing toxic waste. They make an exciting and viable case for putting eco-effectiveness into practice, and show how anyone involved with making anything can begin to do so as well.
